Gauging interest - F1 Breakfasts

Postby Nismo on Wed Apr 08, 2009 2:00 am

So... the first two races of the season were actually awesome... who knew?

Back in the day when F1 was cool we used to meet up on race mornings for breakfast and F1.

Anyone interested for the 19th?

Unfortunately I'll be in Montreal around that time.
So I won't be able to make it...

I'm in. I haven't watched F1 in years, and with the new rules and the kers I'm sure it's more interesting now.

Speaking of kers, is it obvious to the spectator when a driver uses it?

Its not crazy obvious, but you know when they are using it. Typically they will draft the car ahead, then use it to sling-shot past them. But its also used in the straights to make up time... and they usually burn it all up as they cross the line so they can have a full blast for the next lap.

IN

the thing about kers - ferrari used it for the first two races, gave up this weekend and that leaves mercedes, renault heidfeld's bmw running it

also it can be obvious when it's used, provided that mr. f1 tv producer puts the elementary telemetry data (speed, g, throttle, brake, revs, gear, kers)

I've got to go out for a bit - how long does the race last? I can probably stop by the pub on my way home, which would be around 10ish. Not sure about Ev though...
