if you follow the image sources im sure you could find out what it is.

He already said what it is... that is what he meant by 510.

The car you are looking at is a Datsun 510.

KA is a super comon swap for that car.

That is where my old KA ended up... In a 510 race car.

Putting carbs could have been done for specific class regulations (ie not allowed fuel injection...).

Wow I cannot wait to see the mid project pics... Should be a heck of an experience if it all works out in the end (which there is no doubt it will of course). Good luck signor Dave... we're rootin' for ya!

I think Dave said that it's a 5.0 V8 from a Mustang.

I have no brand loyalty to either. Reasons for choosing the 302: Distributor is at the front of the engine so it can sit back farther. Weight is less than the chivy.

How does the weight and size of the V8 compare to that of the KA? I guess they are roughly the same length, yeah?

It *looks* like the accessories stick farther out on the 302. It will be interesting to put the motors side by side. Block length is about the same as the KA.

For some reason it seems wider

Weight of the 302/T5 is ~520 lbs. KA with gearbox is ~440, or something like that.

I was flipping through the SCC with the RB swap the other day. They said the RB plus gearbox is over 700 lbs. So my car should handle better than one with a Skyline engine. I haven't seen anyone on any board say not to do the RB swap as it will destroy the handling

Mods, we seem to have hijacked this thread. You can move this discusion to the thread about my S13.
