Where to get BSPT Fem to NPT Male adapter

Postby Ninja0n3 on Wed Aug 17, 2011 4:01 pm

I need this for my oil gauge, and Canadian tire doesn't seem to carry or even know what I am talking about.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Not sure where you'll find it... I use an NPT tap to convert the thread in the block.

I've probably got one in the trunk of my 240sx, since I took the Oil Pressure gauge out of it when I took it out of storage. I know I bought one in Ottawa, but I can't for the life of me, remember where. Try plumbing supply companies. I made a quick call to Noble, and they don't have anything like that, though.

If you want mine, I could probably go pick it up from the car sometime early next week...

You may also need a T-Joint, as I know on the KAE, the car wouldn't run without the factory Oil Pressure Sensor in place, or wouldn't run properly without the Oil Pressure Sensor signal. So, I went NPT to BSPT (or the other way around, whatever it was), to a T-Junction, to the Autometer Gauge and the factory sensor...

Thank you for the replies.
It's for an SR20DET, not sure the oil pressure switch is a functional requirement.
I called a couple of places, nobody seems to have such an item, I will probably go with the option Martin suggested; now I'll have to look for an NTP tap.

On a side note, it is a mechanical gauge.

In case you haven't done this yet, check Shooner Industrial on Bently Ave. They had BSPT fittings back when I needed a BSPT to NPT fitting for the oil pressure switch!

I think they have a $20 minimum order (tehy got fed up with spending 1/2hr with retail guys who wante 2 x $0.50 bolts).. but that's not so bad as it isn't hard to spend $20 there!
